Meet Dr. Duany, a specialist with Norton Orthopedic Institute. She earned her medical degree from Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN and completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She then completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder arthroplasty at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. Dr. Duany is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Duany’s clinical practice focuses on shoulder and knee arthroscopy as well as shoulder arthroplasty. She has a strong interest in orthobiologics and their role in improving surgical outcomes and enhancing recovery. Her passion for sports medicine began after sustaining a sports-related injury while playing Division I basketball as an undergraduate student-athlete, an experience that gave her a unique perspective on caring for athletes.
Dr. Duany is known for her excellent bedside manner and commitment to patient-centered care. She prioritizes listening to her patients and building meaningful connections with them. She approaches treatment decisions as a collaborative process, working closely with patients to develop individualized plans that optimize outcomes and support their overall well-being.
